I’m Vanessa, a Filipina Mom living in the U.S. Since 2015. I like to inspire you with adventures in the eyes of a homemaker away from home, share some culture shocks and adjustments, promote a simple and balanced life, and reflect on raising a child in both cultures.
My dream of becoming a full-time blogger started in 2018. At that time, between having a toddler and moving to a new home, family life became a priority. It’s a blessing to gain the skills I have now and keep on learning along the way while I nurture and manage our home.
Since then I have started filming snippets of our lives, though I wasn’t sure how to present them. My creative streaks would come and go, and doubt took over more often than I wanted. My friends would know that my confidence stems purely from singing in church, but I am rather awkward in public speaking.
I have been pondering YouTube as a wonderful medium, as I consider sharing our lives while keeping the family’s boundaries.
I became a full-time homemaker in 2020. At a time when almost everything was uncertain, there were little things we adapted to our day-to-day lives that have become more helpful in re-discovering other skills that might have been neglected or forgotten.
Some still consider homemaking as a mundane series of tasks, when in reality, it is a lifelong job. A ministry that varies from home to home, the family dynamics, routines, and other activities. It consists of small tasks in multiple roles planned and executed to ensure a steady flow of the home and the success of people within it.
Life lessons that are taught and learned by your hands. Like any new job, the more time and effort you put into it, the more you will be better at it.
